Brief

An ethnicwear brand entering a new market.

The ethnicwear market is already so vast with brands for every target audience out there.

The category was crowded, culturally rich, and visually competitive. Simply showing products wasn’t enough. Lavira needed a clear point of view, a recognisable visual language, and a reason for people to connect with the brand.

Idea

We decided to not chase any specific target audience and keep it open for everyone. For every woman out there. From office goers to party animals, we have outfits for all. While the brand started more as a rich ethnic culture-driven products, we changed our language to something that is more relatable, simple, and for everyone.

My role was to shape how the brand looked, sounded, and showed up, from strategy and identity to the website, campaigns, and everyday communication.

Built the brand from the ground up

Defined Lavira’s brand strategy, positioning, personality, and visual direction from the early stages.

Turned the brand into a digital experience

Built the website, product storytelling, content direction, and communication system across digital touchpoints.

Created a distinct brand voice

Developed a visual and verbal language that made Lavira feel contemporary, expressive, and rooted in its own design world.

Brandbook

Curated a brand book to set a brand direction and tonality.

Brandbook cover: a model holding pink lotuses to her face beside the Lávìra wordmark on a maroon drape
  • Brandbook spread: tone of voice, two hands passing a lotus
  • Brandbook spread: target audience, beyond age, beyond who she is
  • Brandbook spread: the colour palette over a weaver’s hands
  • Brandbook spread: the brand pattern, lotuses, hands and the five flower arrows
  • Brandbook spread: logo guidelines, the gold wordmark on lily pads
  • Brandbook spread: cream and maroon clothing tags on linen
  • Brandbook spread: maroon packaging, an ikat kurta and a thank-you card
